67th Annual MSC SCONA: "Fortifying the Foundation"

The MSC’s 67th Student Conference On National Affairs was an unwavering success, with fellow Aggies and students from different universities traveling to immerse themselves into the conversations held within the conference. Roundtables such as Fighting Terrorism Abroad, Mental Health in the Military, and Anti-Human Trafficking led participants to think critically on the problems we face inside and outside of America, with the goal of writing policy to rectify these issues.

MSC SCONA brought in prestigious speakers to educate and answer questions, such as Lieutenant General Hinote, Admiral McRaven, and General Berger, the Commandant of the Marine Corps. With these American heroes sharing their stories and insights, MSC SCONA was a captivating source of knowledge and conversation, spurring and inspiring conversation within roundtables, each guided by an expert in the field, all in hopes of presenting a concise policy at the conclusion of the week.

Complementing MSC SCONA is the International Strategic Crisis Negotiation Exercise (ISCNE), which takes place two days prior to the conference. With this interactive exercise spawning from the U.S. Army War College, Texas A&M University hosts this small-scale diplomacy exercise to further conversations regarding international integration, cooperation, and response when red lines are approached or impeded upon.

MSC SCONA equips each individual, regardless of skill set, interest, or ideology with sharper critical thinking skills, laced with perspective acquired through conversation with those around them on how to pacify tensions and issues faced within and outside of America. The MSC Student Conference On National Affairs is not simply an excellent experience and resume builder, but rather an event potent with wisdom and found nowhere else outside of
MSC SCONA.
